Use Cases
When you're running a sports screening—whether it's a fan zone, a venue upgrade, a hospitality area or a live match event—the screen is often the centrepiece. It needs to be visible in daylight, reliable when crowds are watching, and sized right for the space. Getting it wrong means poor sightlines, disappointed attendees and wasted investment.
LED House supplies and installs LED screens specifically for sports events. We understand the practical demands: brightness that cuts through daylight, setup that fits your venue layout, and support on the day when it matters.
Why Brightness Matters for Outdoor Sports Screenings
The biggest mistake is underestimating brightness. A screen that looks great indoors can be unwatchable in daylight. Sports screenings happen in the sun—outdoor fan zones, terraces, beer gardens, stadium car parks. Standard office-grade screens simply don't compete with daylight glare.
High-brightness LED panels (typically 5000+ nits) are built to perform in full sun. They deliver clear, sharp images even when crowds are standing directly in front of them. Without adequate brightness, you get washed-out colour, poor contrast and disappointed viewers.
LED House can advise on the right brightness level for your specific venue and time of day. Overspec'ing costs money; underspec'ing ruins the experience. The difference is commercial.
Screen Size and Viewing Distance
There's no universal "right" size. A 4m screen works for a small hospitality box; a 10m+ screen might be needed for a crowded fan zone. The key is matching screen diagonal to average viewing distance and crowd volume.
As a rough guide: for every metre of viewing distance, aim for roughly 1 inch of screen diagonal. A crowd sitting 10m away needs a screen around 10 inches (diagonal), which translates to roughly 6–8m wide depending on aspect ratio. If people are further back or the crowd is large, bigger is usually better.
Poor sightlines create tension in crowds and wasted ticket revenue. Get the size right from the start.
Outdoor vs. Covered Sports Screenings
Outdoor screenings (open air, no roof) face direct sun and weather. You need maximum brightness, weatherproof cabinets, and secure rigging in case of wind. Rain-resistant enclosures and power protection are non-negotiable.
Covered venues (marquees, semi-outdoor terraces, hospitality areas under roof) can use slightly lower brightness and have fewer weather concerns, but they still need robust construction and reliable power supply. Setup time and crew skill matter more in tight spaces.
LED House provides both outdoor and covered solutions with the right weatherproofing and structural support for each scenario.
Placement and Viewing Angles
Where the screen sits changes everything. A screen at ground level in a wide fan zone might need height adjustment so rear-of-crowd spectators can see over heads. A screen on a hospitality deck needs to be angled properly to avoid glare on the glass.
Multiple screens (one per corner of a fan zone, or side-by-side for very large crowds) can solve sightline problems better than one oversized screen. LED House can plan the layout based on your venue footprint and expected crowd numbers.
Reliability and Setup Support
Match days are live events. A screen malfunction mid-broadcast is a disaster. LED House provides:
Professional installation by experienced crew
Pre-event testing and technical checks
On-site support during the broadcast
Backup power and failsafe cabling
We don't just drop off a screen and leave. The setup, weather readiness and day-of support are part of the service.
Mobile Screens for One-Off or Temporary Events
If you're running a single match day or a short seasonal pop-up, mobile LED screens and trailer hire are a cost-effective option. A trailer-mounted screen arrives ready to deploy, needs minimal infrastructure and can be removed after the event. Ideal for temporary fan zones, outdoor bars or festival screenings.
Permanent Sports Venue Upgrades
If you run the venue year-round and need a dedicated screen (hospitality display, internal broadcast system, wayfinding), LED installations and custom builds might be better value than repeated hire. Fixed screens are wired directly, fully integrated and require minimal setup each event.
Common Sports Screening Scenarios
Fan zones: High-brightness outdoor screens (typically 6–10m wide) for 50+ people. Needs strong rigging, clear sightlines and weather protection.
Hospitality and VIP areas: Smaller (3–5m) screens, often indoors or semi-covered. Emphasis on colour accuracy and viewing angles for seated guests.
Outdoor terraces and beer gardens: Medium brightness, flexible placement, mobile trailers often preferred for seasonal use.
Stadium upgrades: Large permanent screens for stadium clubs or executive lounges. Integrated into venue infrastructure, used multiple times per season.
Pop-up match-day events: One-off football, rugby, cricket or boxing screenings in parks, pubs or car parks. Mobile screens make sense.
Power, Connectivity and Content Delivery
Beyond the screen itself, you need reliable power (usually 3-phase industrial supply for larger screens), connectivity (broadcast feed from a satellite dish, streaming service or ground fibre) and content playback (switching between feeds, graphics, betting odds, team stats). LED House handles the technical integration so your operation team can focus on the event.
Budget and Lead Time
Sports screenings range from modest one-day hires to large permanent installations. Costs depend on screen size, brightness, setup complexity, hire duration and location. Get a quote early: lead times during peak sports seasons (football, rugby, racing, cricket) can be tight, and bigger events book ahead.
