Brightness comes with energy and heat costs. A high-brightness outdoor screen uses more power and generates more heat than a lower-brightness one. This affects:

  • Power supply requirements. A 4,000+ nit screen demands a larger power connection than a 1,500 nit screen.

  • Cooling systems. Brighter screens need better ventilation and cooling to prevent burnout and maintain lifespan.

  • Operating environment. In extreme heat, high-brightness screens need more careful placement and management.

  • Running costs. A brighter screen costs more per hour to run.
